Regarding the fingerprint software, is just the same as it was in W7, tough a little faster. 1) Turn off Fast Startup: Go to Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Additional Power Settings > Choose what Power buttons do > Change settings that are unavailable > uncheck Fast Startup. The new Synaptics Ultranav Driver is still buggy (charms and gestures work, but two and three fingers click doesn't). System Update doesn't work: the packages are not being listed, no matter they are available. After installing the driver from windows update, the biometric device option did appear as hp said. It was supposed to be a Metro app, so they might be releasing it at the end of the month. Also some feats are still missing: Dolby (doesn't work in W8 at all) and HDD Accelerator (W7 version can be used), for example. We contacted HP about the issue and they said we need to use the driver that comes from windows update for this option to appear. ![]() They started to pop up on October the 2nd. But they are still incomplete: The Settings Dependency package is available, but the new Settings Control Panel or however they call it is not available yet. ![]()
